(GLEN ALLEN, Va.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team, the nation's top ranked Division III team, carded rounds of 290 and 314 at the 36-hole Max and Susan Stith Invitational hosted by Randolph–Macon College and ended the event with a team score of 604 to win the 15-team event for the second consecutive year.

How it Happened:

  • Sophomore Samantha Wang opened play on Monday with a three-under par 69 after she played the back nine at five-under, as she recorded an eagle on hole 14. Wang then followed with a 79 for a 36-hole score of 148. Wang tied for the individual medalist in a field of 75 golfers.
  • Graduate student Alexis Sudjianto fired a one-over par 73 and then a four-over par 76 to placed tied for third with a 149.
  • Senior Sriya Mupparaju carded rounds of two-over par 74 and 79 on to finish with a 153.
  • Freshman Cecilia Jia and senior Kaylin Yeoh both finished the 36-hole event with a 158. Jia fired rounds of 74 and 84 while Yeoh carded rounds of 78 and 80.

Notes:

  • Wang now has three career individual medalists honor ranking tied for second most in program history.
  • Wang's opening round of three-under par 69 is tied for the sixth lowest round in program history.
