(WILLIAMSBURG, Va.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team capped off an impressive season by finishing as the national runner-up at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships, held at Kingsmill Resort's River Course in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Tartans posted a final-round team score of 293 to conclude the 72-hole tournament with a program-record total of 1,181 (302–303–283–293).

How it Happened:

  • Freshman Cecilia Jia carded a two-under par 70 over the final round and finished with a 72-hole score of one-under par 287 (75-71-71-70). Jia placed second individually in a field of 176 golfers.
  • Sophomore Samantha Wang recorded a two-over par 74 on Friday and finished with a 295 (73-78-70-74), placing 12th individually.
  • In round four, graduate student Alexis Sudjianto carded a round of one-over par 73 and finished the championship event with a 298 (77-79-69-73).
  • Senior Sriya Mupparaju fired a 76 on Friday and had a 72-hole score of 302 (77-75-74-76).
  • Freshman Emma Wong ended the championship with a 305 (77-79-73-76).

Notes:

  • The Tartans have competed in six NCAA Championships in the 10 seasons of the program. In all six appearances the Cardinal and Gray have placed within the top five: 2018 (5th), 2021 (2nd), 2022 (4th), 2023 (4th), 2024 (1st) and 2025 (2nd).
  • The Tartans' 72-hole score of 1,181 (+29) is the lowest four-round score in program history.
  • Jia's finish of second at the national event ties the highest individual finish in program history. Sudjianto finished second in 2021.
  • Jia broke the school record for the best four-round score with a one-under par 287.
  • Wang has the fourth lowest four-round score with a 295 (+7) and Sudjianto has the fifth lowest with her 298 (+10).
  • The Tartans third-round score of 283 (-5), set the NCAA Championship record for lowest round at the event.
