(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Senior defender Rachel Legg was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the eighth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team to a pair of home shutouts last week. The honor is the first of the year for Legg and the Tartans.

Legg defensive effort kept the previously 5-2 Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets from scoring on Friday evening as the Tartans won 5-0. She returned to start her 46th straight game on Sunday and recorded her first assist of the season with a long pass over the defense in a 2-0 win against Penn State Behrend.

The Tartans return to the field to open UAA play on Saturday, October 1 when New York University visits Pittsburgh for a 1:30 p.m. match.
