#5 Tartans Win Fifth Straight, Record Second Straight Shutout

(SALISBURY, Md.) – The fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team traveled to Maryland to face Salisbury University on Sunday, September 29. The Tartans earned their fifth straight win and now sit at 7-0-3 after a 3-0 victory.

Inside the Box Score

  • Sophomore Audrey Biano scored the first goal for the Tartans in the third minute of the game with an unassisted shot from deep in the midfield.
  • Senior Gemma Jefferson scored the second goal in the 20th minute of the game with an assist by freshman Alma Zhong after a corner kick.
  • The final goal of the game came after Salisbury's deflection of the Tartans' corner kick, when graduate student Erin Magid was able to quickly recover for a shot and goal with an assist from Bianco.
  • The Tartans had a total of 17 shots with nine on goal.
  • Junior Abby O'Connor made two saves and earned the victory.
