#4 Tartans Pick Up 2-0 Road Win Against #20 Rochester

(ROCHESTER, NY.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team, ranked fourth in the nation, faced 20th-ranked University of Rochester on Saturday, October 12 in Rochester. The Tartans won 2-0 and are now 9-0-3 overall and 2-0 in the University Athletic Association (UAA). The Yellowjackets are 8-2-2 and 1-1-0.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Tartans had a total of 10 shots, three of which were on goal.
  • Graduate student Cecelia Dieterich scored the first goal in the 14th minute on a penalty kick.
  • Sophomore Audrey Bianco gave the Tartans a two-goal advantage in the 56th minute after scoring a breakaway goal with the assist coming from junior Helena Locateli.
  • Both Bianco and senior Sophia Bastek had two shots for the Tartans.
  • Goalkeeper junior Abby O'Connor had three saves. This was her third shutout of the season.
