Hochstedler Earns UAA and ECAC Weekly Awards

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, February 21. Hochstedler's awards are the first of her career and come after her performance at the Kenyon College Fast Chance Meet on Saturday, February 18.

Hochstedler topped her previous school record in the 200-yard breaststroke with an even better performance at the Kenyon on Saturday. The junior finished the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:18.06 to better her previous mark by more than two seconds. Her time also stands as seventh best in the nation before invites to the NCAA Championships are handed out on Thursday, February 23.
