Nicklas-Morris Earns Third Top 16 Finish of NCAA Championships

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - Junior Emma Nicklas-Morris (Winston-Salem, N.C./RJ Reynolds) finished her time at the 2019 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with another top 16 finish for the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team. The championships conclude on Saturday with sophomore Jessica Chau (Ridgewood, N.J. / Ridgewood) swimming her strongest event, the 200-yard backstroke.

Nicklas-Morris took to the pool on Friday for the 200-yard butterfly qualifying for the consolation finals with a time of 2:04.64 in the preliminaries. In the finals heat Friday evening, the junior touched fifth for a 13th-place finish in a career-best time of 2:03.71. Her time was also .02 seconds off the school record.

Nicklas-Morris closed her season with three All-America Honorable Mention honors which make nine total honors for her career.
