Tartans Continue Swimming at NCAA Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team continued competition at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with all four athletes swimming in the preliminaries on Thursday, March 17. The meet is being hosted at the IUPUI IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The 200-yard freestyle relay started the meet with a 25th-place finish with junior Tiffany Tseng (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy), junior Bonnie Wang (Vancouver, BC / Collingwood School), freshman Emma Hoffman (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa), and senior Kierstyn Cassidy (Waynesville, Ohio / Waynesville) combining to touch the final wall in 1:37.31

Cassidy and Hoffman each returned to the pool for the 200-yard freestyle with Cassidy finishing 46th in a season-best time of 1:54.68 and Hoffman touching 54th in 1:56.03.

Wang and Tseng will both compete in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday for the Tartans and are ranked 10th and 14th, respectively, in the event.
