Tartans Dominate at W&J Diving Invitational

(WASHINGTON, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's diving team competed at the Washington & Jefferson College Diving Invitational on Friday, December 1. 

  • Freshman Cat Bryan placed first on the 1M springboard, earning a season-best 474.75 points. Her top-scoring dive was 403b (Inward 1 ½ somersaults), earning five 8.5s, one 8.0, and one 7.5 from the judges.
  • Junior Kyndall Tatum won the 3M springboard with a career-best 467.50 points. Her top-scoring dives were 401b (Inward dive) and 201b (Back dive) which each earned a 9.0 and four 8.5s from the judges.
  • Senior Kelli Kuramoto placed second on the 1M springboard with a season-best 449.00 points.
  • Bryan was second on the 3M springboard with 277.90 points after six dives.
  • Tatum placed fourth on the 1M springboard, earning a season-best 422.15 points.

Notes

  • Kuramoto and Bryan secured their invitations to the NCAA Diving Regional in March with their second qualifying marks of the season.
  • Tatum earned her first qualifying score on the 3M board this season.
