Tartans Compete in Kenyon Fast Chance Invite

(GAMBIER, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team competed at the Fast Chance Invitational at Kenyon College on Saturday, February 24.

Top Performances

  • Junior Abigael O'Donnell placed sixth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.89.
  • Sophomore Yitian Zhang placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke for a personal-best time of 1:05.51. Sophomore Audrey Lambert was right behind with a time of 1:05.63.
  • Sophomore Savannah Xu finished first in the 200-yard IM in a season-best time of 2:04.25 and placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.76.
  • Xu was second in the 100-yard backstroke time trial in a season-best time of 56.40.
  • The Tartans swept the 100-yard IM: senior Erica Iizuka placed first with a time of 1:02.38, sophomore Nia Bowrin placed second with a time of 1:02.52, and graduate student Mathea Myhrvold placed third with a time of 1:04.32.

Beginning on Friday, March 1, the Tartans will compete in the NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships.
