#6 Women's Tennis Advances to Fifth Straight NCAA Regional Final

(GREENCASTLE, Ind.) – The #6 Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team advanced to the third round of the 2012 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship with a 5-0 win over Coe College on Friday, May 11 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. The Tartans improve to 17-5 and will play for the regional championship for the seventh time in eight years including the last five.

The team swept doubles action while only dropping three games with the Tartans top doubles team of seniors Laura Chen (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) and Courtney Chin (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) winning 8-0 over Michelle Schupbach and Tai Lucero.

Freshmen Angela Pratt (Saratoga, Calif./St. Francis) and Clare DuBrin (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Southerland) earned the final two points for the Tartans winning 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively, at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

The Tartans move on to face #8 DePauw at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.
