Chin Seals #4 Tartans 6-3 Victory Over #8 Johns Hopkins

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked fourth nationally, hosted #8 Johns Hopkins University Sunday afternoon April 15.  The Tartans defeated the Blue Jays 6-3 to better their record to 15-3, as Johns Hopkins is now 10-5.

Carnegie Mellon fell behind 2-1 after doubles play with the Tartans victory coming at the second spot.  The freshman pair of Chelsea Motie (Melbourne, Fla./West Shore) and Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) defeated Abby Clark and Shannon Herndon 8-1.

The Tartans then claimed points at first, second, third, fourth and sixth singles to come away with the 6-3 decision.  Senior Courtney Chin's (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over Herndon at fourth singles clinched the victory for the home team
