Tartans Top Slippery Rock 9-0

(MONROEVILLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team defeated Slippery Rock University on Friday, February 10 at The Club in Monroeville, Pa. The Tartans are now 3-0 for the year.

Freshmen doubles pair of Clare DuBrin (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Southerland) and Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) started the Tartans victory march with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

Sophomore transfer Katie Cecil (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View) was the first to finish singles action when she won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Senior Cze-Ja Tam (Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes Peninsula) solidified the Tartans win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles for the team's fifth point of the match as senior Laura Chen (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) won the Tartans' third singles match at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-4.

The Tartans will next face Division I Robert Morris University on Saturday, February 11 at 4:30 p.m. at Alpha Tennis in Harmar, Pa.
