#5 Tartans Fall to #8 California University of Pa.
(SOUTH PARK, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team ran into its toughest competition to date and fell 6-3 to Division II California University of Pennsylvania who is ranked eighth in the nation. The No. 5 Tartans are now 2-1 on the season.
Freshmen Brooke Tsu (Hillsborough, Calif./Burlingame) and Abbey Hamstra (Wheatfield, Ind./Kankakee Valley) won their No. 3 doubles match 8-5 over Maxime Colen and Elizabeth Guy to tie the score at 1-1.
Winning in singles was sophomore Angela Pratt (Saratoga, Calif./St. Francis) at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2 over Jesse Burrell and Hamstra at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-3 over Colen.
