Women’s Tennis Hosts Pitt

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team hosted cross-town Division I opponent the University of Pittsburgh on Friday, April 12.  The Tartans dropped a 7-2 decision moving their dual record to 8-6 as the Panthers are now 9-10.

The Tartans trailed 2-1 following doubles play as they earned their point in the No. 2 slot.  The tandem of sophomore Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) and freshman Brooke Tsu (Hillsborough, Calif./Burlingame) defeated Kimmy Borza and Taylor Washington 8-6.

In singles play, Tsu recorded the Tartans second point with a three-set victory after dropping the first.  The freshman topped Borza at No. 3, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).

The Tartans will next face Kalamazoo College on Saturday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. before playing Kenyon College at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 14.  Both matches will be played in Gambier, Ohio.
