Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach Receives Regional Recognition

(SKILLMAN, N.J.) – In just her second season as the Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis assistant coach, Sarah Short was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Short helped guide the women's program to a ranking of eighth nationally this year, as the Tartans earned their tenth consecutive trip to the NCAA postseason and advanced to their fourth appearance in the national quarterfinals which will be played on May 19.  The team currently has a 19-4 dual match mark and finished runner-up at the University Athletic Association Championship for the second straight year behind topped ranked Emory University.  Carnegie Mellon has posted an 8-5 mark against ranked teams this season.   

The national winners will be announced Wednesday, May 21 at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Championships, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Claremont, California.
