Tsu and Torres Win at Third Doubles as No. 6 Tartans Fall to No. 3 Williams

Mar. 29 - (LEXINGTON, Va.) - The sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team played No.3 Williams College on Sunday afternoon on the campus of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.  The Ephs defeated the Tartans 8-1, as Carnegie Mellon moves to 11-5 overall while Williams remains perfect at 8-0.

Carnegie Mellon picked up its lone point at third doubles.  The tandem of junior Brooke Tsu (Hillsborough, Calif./Burlingame) and sophomore Nicholle Torres (Weston, Fla./Great Neck South) defeated Rebecca Curran and Maya Hart 9-7.

In singles play, senior Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines) won her first set 7-6 (3) over Mia Gancayco before Gancayco forced a third set where Raschke dropped a hard fought super tiebreaker 10-7.

Carnegie Mellon will be back on the court on Saturday, April 4 when they entertain No. 20 Mary Washington University at 10:00 a.m.
