No. 5 Tartans Selected to 11th Straight NCAA Tournament

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked fifth in the nation, has been selected to compete for the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship. The Tartans will open the tournament at the University of Chicago on Saturday, May 9 after receiving a first-round bye. The selection marks the program's 11th consecutive appearance.

Carnegie Mellon (15-6), runner-up of the University Athletic Association (UAA), will travel to Chicago, Illinois, and face the winner of the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota) and St. Norbert College (Wisconsin). The Tommies (18-2) are making their seventh trip to the NCAA tournament but first since 2003 after winning the MIAC Championship while the Green Knights, who are making the program's second NCAA appearance, are 24-7 and won the Midwest Conference.

The winner of Augustana College (Illinois) and Edgewood College (Wisconsin) will face 15th-ranked Chicago (12-11) on Saturday with Saturday's winners playing for a quarterfinal appearance on Sunday, May 10.
