Vizelman Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University freshman Jamie Vizelman (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week following the team's two victories last week.

Vizelman recorded the match-clinching point for the Tartans on Saturday, March 26 against 13th-ranked Washington and Lee University. With the Tartans and Generals tied 4-4, Vizelman came from a set down to win the deciding fifth point giving the 11th-ranked Tartans the 5-4 win at home. Vizelman twice won by tiebreaker, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5) at fourth singles. In the match, she also won 8-4 at number two doubles with senior Brooke Tsu. On Monday, Vizelman won at third singles, 6-0, 6-2, when the Tartans topped Westminster College 9-0.

The Tartans will be in action for their last home match on Friday, April 1 at 4:00 pm when they host Washington (Md.) College.
