#12 Tartans Fall at #6 Pomona-Pitzer

(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - The 12th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team visited sixth-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday, March 11. The Sagehens won on their home court, 7-2.

The Tartans (10-4) earned wins at number two and three singles after the home team swept doubles play to take an early 3-0 lead.

Both junior Cori Sidell (Redwood Shores, Calif./Carlmont) and sophomore Jamie Vizelman (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) rallied from first-set losses to win in three. Vizelman finished first at number three singles, 1-6, 6-4, 10-7, while Sidell was the final singles match to finish and came out on top by a 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 win.

The Tartans will next face eighth-ranked Wesleyan University out of Connecticut on Tuesday, March 14 in Claremont.
