Taylor Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Danna Taylor has been honored as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance at last week's ITA Southeast Regional.

Taylor became a three-time ITA Southeast Regional singles champion with a 6-4, 6-2 victory against sophomore teammate Divya Venkatarama on Tuesday, September 26. Taylor, who was seeded second for the tournament, earned four other singles victories while also making a run through the doubles bracket where she finished as the runner-up with sophomore teammate Anna Chow. Taylor and Chow breezed through the bracket before falling 6-2, 6-1 to a pair from Johns Hopkins University. Taylor's appearance in the doubles final was the fourth of her career, as she partnered with four different teammates, winning three times.

The senior is now set to compete at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia, beginning on Thursday, October 12 in both singles and doubles.
