(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Sarah Yang was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week for her performance over the weekend in helping the Tartans to a 1-1 mark over the weekend against two Division II institutions.

Yang started play on Friday with a straight set victory at second singles over Dari Sakhanova of Slippery Rock University winning by the scores of 6-0, 6-3. On Saturday, Yang played at the top spot in singles against Ming Deewajee of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and won another straight set match by the scores of 6-3, 6-2.

The Tartans will next compete on Saturday, February 17 when they travel to Denison University for a 12:00 p.m. start.
