Taylor, Venkatarama Finish Year at NCAA Singles Championship

(ST. LOUIS, Mo.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Danna Taylor and sophomore Divya Venkatarama opened play at the 2024 NCAA Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Saturday, May 25. Both were invited to the tournament for their singles play with competition taking place at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Taylor drew seventh-seeded Matia Cristiani of Babson in the Round of 32. Cristiani was able to top Taylor by a 6-1, 6-2 score in Taylor's fourth appearance in the NCAA Singles Tournament.

Venkatarama was invited to the tournament for the first time and faced Erica Ekstrand of Williams College in the Round of 32. After falling 7-6 (10) in the first set, Venkatarama was ousted following a 6-1 second-set loss.

Taylor closes her career with 87 career singles victories which is third all-time in school history.

Venkatarama finishes her second season with a 22-7 record and a career singles record of 45-14.
