Guevel Garners Third UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. Guevel helped lead the Tartans to a second-place finish at their annual quad meet on Saturday.

Guevel won the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.28. Her time is currently third in Division III and tops in the UAA. She earned another victory in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:02.92, which ranks fourth in the Division III. The sophomore also ran on the first-place 4x400-meter relay that posted a 4:04.48 finish to improve their time from last week by more than five seconds.
