Tartans Compete at Ed Fry Invitational
(INDIANA, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the Ed Fry Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania Saturday, April 21.
Junior Tori Baggio (Coopersburg, Pa./Springside) tied a career0best height in the high jump, as she placed eighth after clearing 1.43 meters.
In the throwing events, junior Sarah Menio (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg South) threw 32.02 meters in the discus to place fifth while sophomore Samantha Oleson (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) finished ninth with a toss of 26.22 meters. Oleson placed eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 37.18 meters.
Sophomore Kelsey Hallinen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) ended with an eighth-place showing in the 400-meter hurdles after crossing the finish line with a time of 1:11.68.
The track and field team will compete again April 28-29 as they host the UAA Championships.
