Guevel Garners UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. Guevel turned in three top place finishes at the Tartans' annual quad meet on Saturday, April 6.  

Guevel's first victory came as part of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished in 50.36.  She then won the 100-meter hurdles with season-best time of 14.71 before winning the 400-meter hurdles with yet another season-best time of 1:02.33.  She currently ranks 2nd in the 400 hurdles and 11th in the 100 hurdles in Division III.
