Men’s and Women’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Awards

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2016 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the lists for the 10th consecutive year. A total of 112 men’s teams and 175 women’s teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.
Three Men and Three Women Honored on USTFCCCA All-Region Team

Two Seniors Set Career-Best Times at 11th Annual Gator Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the 11th Annual Gator Invitational host by Allegheny College on Friday, May 13. Seniors Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) and Erin Persson (San Antonio, Texas/Saint Mary's Hall) both set career-best times on Friday.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team placed fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships which took place at Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24. The Tartans were led by three school records and two first-place finishes.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team placed fourth at the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, April 16. The Tartans won two events to go with four other finishes in the top three to finish first amongst Division III opponents.
Tartans Win Seven Events to Earn a Team Victory at the CMU Quad Meet

The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team won the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet on Saturday, April 2 with 205 points. Westminster College was second with Penn Sate Behrend finishing third and Saint Vincent College placing fourth.
Allen and Bhanja Receive Weekly Honors

A pair of Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field freshmen were honored with weekly accolades following their performance at the Tartans Mini Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26. Tessa Allen (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Bishop Montgomery) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events while Debarati Bhanja (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) garnered Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Rookie Athlete of the Week.
Women’s Track and Field Wins Home Mini Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team placed first at its home mini invitational on Saturday, March 26. The Tartans earned 245 points with 10 first-place finishes against teams from Denison University, Waynesburg University, Allegheny College and Franciscan University.
Two Wins Lead Tartans at W&L Track and Field Carnival

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team opened the outdoor track and field season at the Washington and Lee University Track and Field Carnival on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19. The team recorded two event victories with four third-place finishes.

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team finished fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday, February 28. The two-day championships were hosted by NYU at the Armory in New York City. The Tartans posted two school records while freshman Debarati Bhanja (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) claimed the lone UAA title for the Tartans.

Aldrich Selected as U.S.A. Men’s Throws Coach for 2016 World Indoor Championships

Head coach Gary Aldrich of the Carnegie Mellon University track and field teams has been selected as the U.S.A. Men’s Throws Coach for the 2016 World Indoor Championships. The event will take place in Portland, Oregon, from March 17-20. This marks Aldrich's fourth coaching stint on the international stage.
