Barre Places Fourth in High Jump at NCAA Indoor Championships

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) – A day after winning the national indoor track and field championship in the pentathlon, senior Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's indoor track and field team became an All-American in the high jump at the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. The championships are being held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama, with Birmingham-Southern College serving as the host.

Barre cleared the bar at 1.66 meters to place fourth. The senior now has compiled 13.5 team points for the Tartans at the championships. She becomes the first Tartan to earn two All-American honors at the indoor championships in the same year.
