Barre Repeats as Invitee to NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – Senior Junior Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's outdoor track and field team has received an invite to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 25-27 27 at Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, New York.

Barre, the national champion in the pentathlon at the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, qualified for the outdoor championships in the heptathlon, long jump and 100-meter hurdles. Last season, she ended the championships ninth in the heptathlon with 4,594 points. Barre will enter the competition this year ranked second in the event after posting a school record of 5,017 points earlier this year. She ranks sixth in the long jump with a school record jump of 5.88 meters and 20th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.21.

Barre will be the first Tartan to compete in three events at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Barre's first event in the heptathlon will be on Thursday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m., which is the 100-meter hurdles.
