Women’s Track and Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2023 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list for the 27th consecutive year.

The women's track and field team earned the distinction because of a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 or better for the 2022-23 academic year, as the Tartans carried a cumulative team GPA of 3.47 for the academic year.

In addition to the team earning the award, six individuals were honored:

Senior Liz Barre – mechanical engineering and engineering and public policy
Senior Samantha Giordani – mechanical engineering
Freshman Margaret Ann Healy – environmental engineering
Junior Emily Lannen – chemical engineering
Graduate student Kristen Seballos – biomedical engineering
Senior Mona Yuan - neuroscience

All six individuals qualified for the award by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better while either competing at the NCAA Championships or finishing the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or top 35 in a relay event.
