Tartans Close UAA First Round Robin with a Battle to #6 NYU

(ST. LOUIS, Mo.) – The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team completed play on Sunday afternoon at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #1 hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. The Tartans battled sixth-ranked NYU in a four-set match and dropped a 3-1 decision. The Cardinal and Gray are now 7-3 overall and 1-2 in UAA play.

Inside The Box Score

  • Freshman Elizabeth Schlemmer led the Tartans with her fifth double-double of the season. She recorded 12 kills and tied her season-high with 23 digs.
  • Freshman Bella Woodard tied a season-high with nine kills.
  • For the second straight match, the Tartans recorded seven service aces with five Tartans recording at least one. Junior Mindee Lai and sophomore Abby Chen each had two.
  • Senior Stella Yan tabbed 36 assists.
  • Sophomore Abby Chen was the loan Tartan with double-digit digs as she finished with 13.
  • Junior Laura Reichard and Lai each had 16 digs and Yan finished with 14.
