Tartans End UAA First Round Robin with a Battle to #9 Emory

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University team falls in a five-set match to nonth-ranked Emory University in the Tartans final match of University Athletic Association Round Robin #1 on Sunday afternoon. The Tartans now have an 11-4 overall mark and are 2-1 in UAA play.

• The Tartans won the first set 25-22, lost the second 23-25, won the third set 25-19, and lost the fourth and fifth sets 25-19 and 15-10, respectively.
• The Tartans came back with a vengeance, opening the third set with an eight-point streak.

• Sophomore Elizabeth Schlemmer led the team in kills with 17 in 43 attempts, including one to open the first set.
• Senior Laura Reichard had 12 kills and classmate Jane Dean had nine.

• Defensively, Reichard led with 15 digs and two Tartans had 13: junior Abby Chen and freshman Zoe Gavros.
