Tartans Compete at Inter-Regional Rumble

(OBERLIN, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team competed at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College Saturday, October 13.  The Tartans placed eighth overall out of a field of 30 teams and 270 runners.

For the second straight race senior Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) led the Tartans.  The senior posted a time of 21:42.80 on the 6k course to place eighth.  Behind Wobb was sophomore Halley Bayer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) who crossed in 32nd with a time of 22:25.60.

The Tartans next three finishers were within 30 seconds of each other, as senior Eva Humphrey (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) crossed in 23:00.20 followed by freshman Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci & Tech) and junior Catherine Paquette (Bethel, Ohio/Archbishop McNicholas) with times of 23:07.50 and 23:30.30.

The Tartans will have a week off before heading to Rochester for the UAA Championships.
