Snyder Wins 4K at Dickinson

(CARLISLE, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Liz Snyder (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) won the 4k race at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, September 20. The Tartans finished fourth in the 6k race out of 40 teams while Snyder paced the Tartans to a ninth-place team finish in the 4k race, as Division I Bucknell won both races.

Snyder finished the 4k course in 14:21.90 as senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) was 21st in 15:20.23 and junior Priya Patel (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) was 26th in 15:24.02. Junior Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) was fourth for the Tartans and 40th overall in 25:39.18 while senior Sara Kelly (Madison, Wis./West) finished in 15:57.15.

In the 6k, the Tartans were led by senior Hailey Brown (Wellsville, N.Y./Wellsville) in 31st place with a time of 24:06.49. Juniors Zofia Tillman (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake) and Taylor Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) finished 40th and 50th with times of 24:25.44 and 24:37.44, respectively. Sophomore Emily Joyce (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring), running in her hometown, crossed with a time of 24:54.83 followed by junior Kira Ragazzo (Frederick, Md./Urbana) with a time of 24:54.83 to round out the top five runners for the Cardinal and Gray.

The Tartans will now have two weeks off from racing before hosting their own invitational on Saturday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m.
