Tartans Finish 14th out of 39 at Greater Louisville Classic
(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team ran against some of the best Division III universities on Saturday, October 1 at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. The Tartans finished 14th out of 39 teams.
Junior Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) finished first for the Tartans, as she eclipsed the 6k course in 22:31.62, finishing 24th overall. The next Carnegie Mellon finisher was graduate student Priya Patel (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway). Patel ran the course in 23:23.47 to finish 62nd.
Freshman Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) finished 103rd after crossing the finish line in 24:09.72. Graduate student Shaheen Essabhoy (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) was next to complete the race for the Tartans, as she did so in 24:16.74 for 111th place.
Freshman Rachel Reolfi (North Canton, Ohio/Canton Central Catholic) ran the course in 24:26.92 to finish fifth for the Tartans and 121st overall.
The Tartans will next host the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m.
