Murray Wins Robert Morris Colonial Invitational

(CLINTON, Pa.) – Graduate student Michelle Murray (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team crossed the finish line first at the Robert Morris Colonial Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Tartans placed second on a 6k course at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania. The women tallied 49 points with Pitt winning the event with 36.

Murray crossed with a time of 23:39.1 with senior Kristen Seballos (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) finishing in less than four seconds behind in 23:42.7 to place second overall. Freshman Cora Marcet (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) was the third Tartan to finish and placed 13th with a time of 24:54.6.

Junior Mona Yuan (Sayreville, NJ / Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences) and freshman Alyssa Hoffman (Watsontown, Pa. / Warrior Run) crossed 15th and 18th, respectively, with times of 25:00.3 and 25:14.3 to round out the Tartans top five finishers.

The Tartans will compete again at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, October 1.
