Young Kang served 11 years at Citi before departing in 2018.  During his time at Citi, he was the head of Americas Electronic Cash Trading overseeing algorithmic and DMA trading for US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and other Latin American countries.  Prior to his last position, Mr. Kang was the Global Head of Equities Electronic Products where he managed a global team of quantitative algorithmic product developers around the world. His focus was on innovation and optimization of electronic trading products to provide best execution on behalf of institutional clients in an ever-changing global market place. Mr. Kang was also responsible for smart order routing and liquidity management globally, including expanding the footprint of algorithmic products and direct market access to emerging markets.

Highlights of his achievements while at Citi include the implementation of globally consistent product line, launch of CITIBLOC in the U.S., launch of RPI in Mexico, launch of the new algorithmic trading engine and infrastructure.  He was granted a patent on machine learning and pattern recognition trading automation display called OPTiMUS.  He has also filed a pending patent on revolutionary order type he named benchmark conditional orders.

Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Kang served at Point72 Asset Management (formally SAC Capital) in Stamford, Connecticut, for four years, managing algorithmic strategies and front office trading technology.  He worked with many sell-side brokers to design new algorithmic strategies that revolutionized equities trading during the early electronic evolution days.  Prior to SAC, he worked for JPMorgan as an equities trading technology programmer developing global order entry system. 

Mr. Kang holds a dual B.S. degree in Civil Engineering/Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
