Tartans Win Home Opener by 5-1 Score Against Westminster

PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted Westminster College on Sunday, September 8, and topped the Titans by a 5-1 score behind a pair of goals from senior Jake Slackman. The Tartans are now 2-1-1 for the year.

  • Graduate student Robert Lloyd scored his first goal as a Tartan in the 16th minute off a pass from sophomore Justin Fung.

  • Sophomore Nathan Yao scored in the 75th minute, assisted by freshman Drew McKim.
  • Sophomore Jaimin Fee scored in the 87th minute, assisted by freshman Sola Nishimura, putting the final score at 5-1.
  • Goalie junior William Burger saved one shot.
  • The Tartans had a total of 18 shots, 12 of which were on goal.
