Tartans Earn Clean Sheet with 3-0 Win Against Washington & Jefferson

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted Washington and Jefferson College on Wednesday, September 11, and shutout the Presidents 3-0,  making them 3-1-1 for the season.

Inside the Box Score

  • Graduate student Dallan Schoenberger recorded the first goal after chesting down a pass from freshman Tristan Gonzalez and finishing the volley with his right foot over the keeper in the 20th minute of the game.
  • Graduate student Diederik Schlingemann scored the second goal of the game with a kill shot into the left corner in the 70th minute of the game. The goal was assisted by junior
    Rohan Dhingra and senior Jake Slackman.
  • The third goal of the game happened seven minutes later, when senior Billy Bouculavas scored with a shot down under the keeper after turning on his defender following a forward pass from freshman Sola Nishimura.
  • Carnegie Mellon had a total of 19 shots compared to Washington and Jefferson's three, with eight of CMU's shots being on goal.
  • Junior William Burger earned his second win of the season after playing 81 minutes.
