#17 Men's Tennis Top #16 DePauw University 7-2

(GREENCASTLE, Ind.)) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 17th nationally, defeated the 16th-ranked DePauw University Tigers 7-2 Sunday morning, February 26 in Greencastle, Indiana.  The win improves the Tartans dual record to 5-2 while the Tigers are now 3-2.

Carnegie Mellon jumped out to a 3-0 lead following doubles play. The Tartans then clinched the victory with decisions at first, second, fourth and sixth singles.  

The Cardinal and Gray recorded two straight set victories in doubles play with the first coming from freshman Will Duncan (Newbury Park, Calif./Newbury Park).  Duncan defeated Chris Bertolini 7-5, 6-1 at fourth singles which sealed the victory for the Tartans.  Freshman Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) also won in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-4 at second singles.

The Tartans will be idle until March 10 when they travel to Claremont, California and play Chapman University.
