#13 Tartans Defeat Fifth Ranked Foe in 2012

(GRANVILLE, Ohio) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 13th nationally, traveled to Granville, Ohio Saturday, April 14 to play #29 Denison University.  The Tartans came away with a 5-4 victory to improve their record to 12-5 while the Big Red are now 11-3.

The Tartans have won at least two points in doubles play 13 times this season after taking a 2-1 edge over the Big Red Saturday with wins at first and third.

The Tartans then picked up wins at two, three and four singles to win the match. Freshman Christian Heaney-Secord's (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) 7-6 (3), 7-6 (6) win at second singles over Matt McErlean sealed the Tartans fifth victory over a ranked opponent.
