Alla and Heaney-Secord Earn Bids to the NCAA Singles Tournament

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - Carnegie Mellon University junior Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) and Sophomore Abhishek Alla (Hyderabad, India / IMG Pendleton School) have been selected to compete at the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships when the fields were announced yesterday by the NCAA Division III Mens's Tennis Committee.

This will be the second year in a row that Heaney-Secord has competed in the NCAA Singles Tournament. Heaney-Secord went 16-10 on the season in singles matches, primarily at the No. 2 spot.

After finishing his season with a record of 23-8 playing number one singles, Alla has earned his first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Alla won the ITA National Small College Singles Championship in the fall.

Listed as an alternate is junior Will Duncan (Newbury Park, Calif./Newbury Park) in singles and Duncan and Heaney-Secord in doubles.

The championships are set to take place May 22 through May 24 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
