Tough Battle with Bowdoin Drops Tartans

(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked 11th nationally, matched up with 18th-ranked Bowdoin College on Tuesday, March 10 in Claremont, California. The Polar Bears left the venue with a 6-3 victory against the Tartans, who are now 6-6 on the year.

The Tartans earned all three of their points in singles play. Senior Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 2 singles with sophomores Kunal Wadwani (Saratoga, Calif./Ballarmine College Prep) and Kiril Kirkov (Tampa, Fla./C. Leon King) picking up wins as well. Wadwani won at No. 3 singles, 7-5, 6-4, to pick up his 10th straight victory, while Kirkov won 7-6(7-3), 1-6, 1-0(10-3) at No. 6 singles.

The Tartans tough road of competition continues Wednesday, March 11 with a matchup againt No. 1 Trinity (Texas) University at 9:00 a.m. PT.
