Erra-Hernandez Ends Season at NCAA Championships

(CLAREMONT, Calif.) – Sophomore Zachary Erra-Hernandez (Las Cruces, N.M./Onate) of the Carnegie Mellon University's men's track and field team competed at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Saturday, May 26.  The championships were held in Claremont, California hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Erra-Hernandez qualified in the shot put with a mark of 16.56 meters which placed the sophomore first at the UAA Championships in the shot put back in April.  He had a distance of 16.36 meters in the trials flight Saturday evening. His throw did not advance him to the finals but placed him 12th out of 20 competitors.
