Men’s Track and Field Coaching Staff Honored by UAA

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field coach staff was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) when the 2023 UAA Outdoor Track and Field awards were announced Monday. The staff, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Gary Aldrich, was named UAA Men's Coach Staff of the Year.

The Coaching Staff of the Year award is the seventh for the men's staff in outdoor competition as Aldrich's staff of associate head coach Tim Connelly and assistant coaches Michele Bradley, Kendra Noneman, Julius Rivera, Michael Stark and Curtis Watro were honored after the Tartans won the fifth UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in program history on Sunday, April 23.

The last time the program was awarded Coaching Staff of the Year was in 2017 when the team won its fourth UAA Outdoor Championship. On that staff was Aldrich, Connelly, Bradley and Stark. Aldrich was also part of the 2009 staff that was honored as the associate head coach. He was on the staff in 2008 when it was honored after winning its second Association Championship.
