Kollgaaard Turns in PR as Tartans Compete at West Virginia Last Chance
(MORGANTOWN, WV.) – Several members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed in the West Virginia University Last Chance Invitational on Saturday.
Inside the Track
- Freshman Nathan Massie and classmate Adam Kollgaard took the top two spots in the 5,00-meter run. Massie crossed in 15:13.46 while Kollgaard crossed in a season-best time of 15:14.02.
- Freshman Matthew Short and junior Colin McLaughlin crossed second and third in the mile run with times of 4:15.52 and 4:20.38, respectively.
- Junior Sean Dutton crossed in third with a time of 1:55.68 in the 800-meter run.
- The 1,500-meter run saw freshman Christian Brower finish fifth with a time of 4:06.55.
- Freshman Connor Reidy finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.67.
- Senior Austin Weltz also finished fourth with a time of 22.10 in the 200-meter dash.
- Weltz placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.16.
- Junior Alexander Palmer finished seventh in the 400-meter run with a personal-best time of 51.32,
Inside the Field
- Sophomore Sam Alligood placed third in the shot put with a mark of 15.00 meters. He also placed fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 43.69 meters.
- Senior Jonathan David and Derek Armfield finished second and third in the javelin throw with marks of 49.08 meters and 47.57 meters.
- Freshman Solomon Glavach placed fourth with a mark of 4.51 meters in the pole vault.
