Archer Wins 8K at Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational

(CARLISLE, Pa.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Ryan Archer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) won the 8k race at the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, September 26. The Tartans had runners compete in both the 8k and 4k races. Only individual results are available as team scores are not at this time.  

Archer finished the 8k course in 25:48.46 while the Tartans had four runners finish in the top 10 of the 8k.  Placing seventh was senior Marc-Daniel Julien (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) with a time of 26:16.41.  Freshman William Mitchell (Chatham, N.J.) and senior Grant Langevin (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) rounded out the top 10 with ninth and 10th place finishes.  Mitchell crossed with a time of 26:18.62 while Lagevin had a time of 26:24.18.

In the 4k race, Carnegie Mellon had two runners finish in the top 10.  Sophomore Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) placed seventh with a time of 12:12.42 and senior Josh Antonson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) placed eighth after crossing in 12:14.69.

The Tartans will now have two weeks off from racing before hosting their own invitational on Saturday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m.
