Kalapos Named ECAC South Rookie of the Week

(DANBURY, Conn.) – Freshman Josh Kalapos (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Kalapos paced the Tartans at the CMU Invitational, an event the team won for the fifth straight year, by completing the 8k course through the wooded and hilly region of Pittsburgh in 26:48.7 to finish second overall.

The next race for Kalapos and the Tartans will be on Saturday, October 15 at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
