Murphy Recognized on D3hoops.com’s Team of the Week

(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman women's basketball standout Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware. Murphy was recognized on the five-member weekly team as a forward.

The 6-1 forward led the Tartans to a 1-1 week, averaging 24.0 points and 15.0 rebounds while shooting 15-for-25 from the floor. In an overtime loss to No. 9 Emory, Murphy tied her career-high in points with 36 and converted a career-high 12-of-14 from the free throw line and grabbed a game-high 14 boards. She turned around Sunday and recorded her second straight and fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Murphy has led the team in rebounding the last three games and in seven of 14 games and currently leads the nation in field-goal percentage, shooting 64.6%.

The Tartans continue University Athletic Association action on Friday, January 24 when the University of Chicago visits Skibo Gym for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
