Tartans Place Second at Westminster Invite

(NEW CASTLE, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the Westminster Invite on Saturday, September 6.  In the Tartans first event competing as an NCAA member, Carnegie Mellon placed second with a team score of 367 only behind Division II Mercyhurst.  The 18-hole event was held at New Castle Country Club.

Leading the way for the Tartans with an 84 was freshman Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake).  Her 84 placed her second individually out of a field of 35. Placing third overall was fellow Tartan freshman Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) with an 86.  Freshman Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill.) ended the day in sixth-place carding a 91 while freshman Frances Hughes (Palo Alto, Calif./Castilleja) rounded out the Tartans scoring with a 106.

Carnegie Mellon will be back on the links on Tuesday, September 9 at the Grove City Invitational held at the Grove City Country Club.
